Role Overview
Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, alignment, and installation work for Special Purpose Machines, fixtures, and automation equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blue prints, and technical specifications for assembly.
- Perform precision fitting of mechanical components, including bearings, gears, shafts, and pneumatic cylinders.
- Assemble complete Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and automation sub-assemblies according to design.
- Conduct alignment, leveling, and structural assembly of machine frames and bases.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (verniers, micrometers, dial gauges) effectively.
- Carry out shop-floor testing and minor adjustments to ensure smooth mechanical operation.
- Identify and resolve mechanical interferences or assembly issues during the build process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and industrial standards.
- Collaborate with design and electrical teams to ensure seamless machine integration.
Preferred Qualification / Skills
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Fitter trade.
- Proven experience as a Fitter in SPM, machine building, or industrial automation companies.
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly techniques, tolerances, and fits.
- Ability to read complex 2D technical drawings and assembly layouts.
- Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems, piping, and valve mounting.
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and shop floor equipment.
- Mechanical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel for on-site machine installation and commissioning if required.
