Purchase Engineer

Role Overview

Manage sourcing, vendor development, purchase coordination, and material availability for automation projects and machine building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop reliable vendors for mechanical, electrical, and electronic components required for SPM and automation.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-efficiency and timely project execution.
  • Co-ordinate with design and production teams to understand material specifications and ensure on-time procurement.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent project delays while optimizing material costs.
  • Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, lead time, and cost compliance.

Preferred Qualification / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in technical procurement for industrial automation or machine building.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, BOM (Bill of Materials), and technical specifications.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
